Welcome

Hi, my name is Ubaidullah Qazi, but you can call me by my middle name, Abid. I'm a student of linguistics, and this website is my way of communicating with you. Feel free to browse around and find more about me.

I have an MPhil in General Linguistics and Comparative Philology from the University of Oxford, and an MA  in Applied Language Studies from Westminster University, London. My research interests include cultural aspects of language structure, cultural dimension to pedagogy and curriculum design, and finding linguistic solution for cultural and ethnic tensions among societies. Keeping with the family tradition, my future career interest lie in academia. Currently I’m interested in further enhancing my work experience by working at a leading academic institution before fully moving on to higher education administration and policy design in about ten years time.

I’m an adventurous sort of person who enjoys outdoor activities a lot. My hobbies include photography, cycling, running, travelling and occasional sky diving. At home, the computer is my best mate. I am currently experimenting with simple database design and easy to edit website design, i.e., Wiki, but have just discovred that google sites may be one of the better alternatives around.  Let's see how it goes.
